The “Centro Studi Francesco Ficoroni”

Labico Municipality instituted, with D:G:C: n. 129 on 16/1272022, the Centro studi “Francesco Ficoroni” allowing, at the same time, a collaborative relations, of three years, with the association Castello di Lugnano Onlus which dedicate its activities to the diffusion of culture and history of Labico and of the illustrious fellow citizen, Francesco Ficoroni.

The Center wants to organize, on an international level as well, cultural activities to highlight the figure of Francesco Ficoroni, towards a specialized public and a more popular public, with informative intentions.

In particular, the Center wants to contribute to the recovery of historical objectivity in representation of Ficoroni, focusing on his multifaceted qualities.

The activities will comprehend conferences, research, seminars, publication and scholarships. Plus the Center wants to realize a digital data bank that stores, divided in sectors, the principal materials related to Ficoroni.

A culture that is service and not power – begins the Councilor for Culture Tina Miele – even if for many the risk is of perceiving it as a title of distinction, as an exclusive and non-diffusive wealth. A study center lives not for the deed of incorporation filed, not for the possibility of having a physical location in which to meet, of public or private contributions aimed at supporting and implementing the activities, it lives above all for the people who constitute it, few or many that they are, for the relationships that are established between them, for the purpose, one could say for the ideal, which connects them and makes them generous, capable of creative imagination as well as coherence and perseverance. This is the culmination of years of investments aimed at giving due recognition to our illustrious fellow citizen.

This Study Center will also deal with historical research, will be the promoter of cultural events, exhibitions, presentations of volumes, seminars, workshops, committing itself to bringing citizens closer to places of culture and the heritage preserved in them.

Association pursues the following non economical goals:

• establish itself as a meeting point between the scientific community and the territory with the aim of deepening and disseminating knowledge of the same in its historical-cultural specificities;
• establish an effective dialogue with other knowledge and similar interests, from an interdisciplinary perspective;
• promote relationships with bodies, institutions, schools of all levels and associations;
• defend the local historical heritage through the acquisition, conservation and edition of sources and documentary records, as well as historical bibliographic and genealogical material;
• establish structures that act as an aid and reminder for the practice of cultural activities and for the conduct of free time, such as libraries, archives, reading rooms, canteens, musical entertainment, video libraries, etc.;
• establish historical documentation centers for research purposes;
• manage services and structures for carrying out cultural and intellectual activities;
• promote contacts between members who have specific historical and cultural interests also by establishing sections for more participatory activities;
• participate in Italy and abroad in any activity which, with express resolution of the Board of Directors, is judged suitable for achieving the social objectives;
• pursue any other initiative useful for the diffusion of the historical culture of the municipality of Labico and surrounding areas through the participation and organization of demonstrations, meetings, events and through the carrying out of any other complementary activity, including didactic, aimed at increasing historical education cultural and civic of the members and participants in the activities.
• spread knowledge of the historical culture of Labico through conferences, exhibitions and more. Collaborate with other institutions in order to educate new generations to respect and remember our past. Informing them, to provide for the management, conservation and protection of sites of historical interest. Adequate protection and conservation of any heritage or historical assets that become the property of the Association. Carry out any and all initiatives and activities consistent with the aims of the Association.
